WOW deletes all allusions to Afrasiabi from the game

In the last few days, a lot about Activision Blizzard and World of Warcraft - but unfortunately only little pleasing. Currently, a great sexism and discrimination scandal is the conversation issue number one in the social media. A first step of World of Warcraft's Developer Team was implemented with a hotfix - all content that can be concluded on a specific developer have been removed.

What was the problem? The former developer Alex Afrasiabi stands in the focus of the sexism and discrimination scandal at Blizzard. Many women report and report how they were harassed or harassed by Afrasiabi. Therefore, Blizzard employees and also numerous players in the community are terrible that there is so many allusions to Afrasiabi in World of Warcraft - Retail and Classic.

Over the past few days, players often met to kill Field Marshal Afrasiabi in Stormwind and again as a sign of the protest.

What has been done? With a hotfix, Blizzard has renamed numerous NPCs, quests and objects that were a direct allusion to Alex Afrasiabi or its nicknames in the game. Some examples were compiled on Wowhead.

So far, players have found changes in the following content:

• Field Marshal Afrasiabi was renamed Field Marshal Stonebridge.
• "FRAS SIABI'S AXE" from dude break is now "Grimm's Cigar Cutter"
• All allusions to Fras Siabi were removed from the Dungeon Stratholme and now refer to "Ezra Grimm".
• All items with foror in the name were renamed. "Forors Compendium of the Dragonötens" is now about "Nostro's Compendium of Dragonötens".
• Lord Afrastrasz in the Wyrmruhtempel is now called Lord Devrestrasz.
• Pfadpirscher Kariel is now called Pfadpirscher Avokor.

It is certainly just part of the changes that Blizzard has made. Because in the course of the almost 16 years, developers have always immortalized in the game in different ways. It can therefore be assumed that a whole series of further renamorations have taken place.

By the way, the renaming is probably not in all languages. Until the adjustments are also fully active in the localized versions, it may take a few more days.
