Warlander Review - Enchanted Revenge
The debut-action fantasy title of Clock Drive Games aims to bring with Warlander an addictive slice-and-dice adventure into the indie world.
Prepare to honor The Devouring Tree as you begin a journey on life and death to deflude a malicious enemy. With a solid combination of RPG elements and explosive action warland is a good solution for those who want to try a new hybrid adventure.
In a mystical world, you play as the warrior named Bruce, which is risen and bought back to the surface to avenge his fallen clan. Through a procedural generated progress system, they travel through destroyed and technological countries and kill anyone they stand in the way. Armed with a speaking sword called Ferguson, experience points are collected and body parts collected as they work through a small number of enemies until they defeat the final of warlander: Morven of immortals. The game offers you different places while putting on unlocked skills and skills to strengthen your character.
The opening trip for Bruce starts at a high level, but due to the lack of rewards and the scarce collection of memorial fragments, I gradually lost interest in the main count.
For video game titles with procedure generated worlds, the results can either be very rewarding or pretty boring. In warlander This leads to more former. Thanks to the permanent skills you can acquire by defeating the boss, the repeat factor remains high, even after repeating the game for the fourth or fifth time. While Permadeath can be frustrating (especially if they accidentally fall away from a rocky advantage and the game is reset to the beginning), it forces you to think smarter in encounter with enemies.
The control is easy to learn and navigate because the standard capability tree in the game offers several upgrades for Bruce. You can unlock special movements, eg. B. throw your sword and bring it back to you. Grab objects and enemies with a vineyard arm that can be very useful in intensive situations; Shoot piles from your arm to split and behead the Undead Techno Soldiers. In no time, you will put together a decent arsenal that fits into breast fans who can be selected according to almost every arena. These range from movement speed over increasing health and energy pools to even life robbery at their opponents after each blow.
The opening trip for Bruce starts at a high level, but due to the lack of rewards and the scarce collection of memorial fragments, I gradually lost interest in the main count. The repetitive dialogue between Bruce and Ferguson (and also the general absence of a general dialogue) becomes useless and annoying, and it does not help that the voice output is not carried out with sufficient persuasion and passion to make them more appealing. But if you collect the memorial fragments, Bruce can experience his memories before his death. These are worth a look as they provide deeper insights and explorations into the traditions that the gameplay essentially does not offer.
The sound mix could be a bit more polished.
Enemy encounters have their own musical hints that are not commonplace, and they fit well in the fantasy / science fiction world. If I face enemies, the music mix guitar riffs with futuristic loops that bring me to cut apart my opponents. Even if you enter an area where you tribute to the devouring tree to improve your skills, the music feels fluently.
The sound mix could be a bit more polished. There are certain breaks in the sound effects when the action escalates and the music is interrupted for the fraction of a second. If this happens, the frame usually drops some numbers and then returns to normalness quickly. It's not a big problem, but it can be annoying after a while.
The graphics and the art style are pretty impressive from an indie studio, which was opened only a few years ago. It feels cartoonistic with all the bright colors, but sometimes it can be exceptionally dark and lightly illuminated with neon lights. Some of the arenas are a shameful case of copying and paste, especially if they are one after the other. While they penetrate through these countries, I wished, there would be more variety in the arenas they visit. I will say that the larger and epic levels are much more entertaining.

The journey to avenge your people and reach the final of warlander suddenly comes to a standstill after entering the last portal of the game. It is basically taken with increased difficulty and changed paths that differ from the previous life on the ground of the tree. As long as you do not die, you can keep all the buffs and abilities purchased, but the campaign repeats to defeat moren only again - this time only more difficult. For this reason, the game can repeat something, but the action is never old - even after about 10 hours.

THE GOOD
Search action; Cutting and dice is never old; Music is quite heroic and epic; Character designs are fascinating and impressive.
