Vanguard: Buy-shooter der Alan-Wake

It has been known for some time ago that Remedy Entertainment works on several new games. However, there were no concrete details so far. Shortly before the turn of the year, the Finnish developer studio has officially announced one of the projects — Vanguard. We deliver the most important details.

What is Vanguard?

How Remedy Entertainment has revealed in a detailed press release is Vanguard only the project name of the game. The studio has not revealed the final name. It is clear, however, that it is a coop shooter with a focus on EVE fighting (Player Versus Environment), which is also based on a non-familiar FREE2PLAY model. You will therefore be able to leave the game for free, the further financing is likely via micro transactions.

At Vanguard, players expect a mixture of the story-based elements typical of the studio and action rich gameplay. The financing of development is shared by Remedy Entertainment and of Chinese MegaConzern Tencent, which the studio has won as a partner for this project. The latter also take over both the translation and distribution in certain Asian regions. In addition, Tencent has secured worldwide rights for a mobile version of the game for which the Chinese Group assumes development costs alone. Remedy is involved in sales.

When is Vanguard on the market?

There is no concrete release date for the coop shooter. According to the information provided by Remedy Entertainment Vanguard is currently in the Proof of Concept phase and is therefore still stuck in their infancy. With a release before the year 2023 is therefore probably not to be expected. The first material of the game will certainly have something to be kept in it.
