PGA Championship: Woods creates cut

At the PGA Championship in the Southern Hills Country Club in Tulsa/Oklahoma, Tiger Woods made the cut after an increase in performance - the German golfers Martin Kaymer (Mettmann) and Alex Cejka (Munich) clearly missed the qualification for the weekend.

In the second round on Friday, Woods needed 69 strokes on the Par-70 course. At the start, the American had played a 74 round, a total of three strokes over Par in 53th place. It is the second tournament of the 46-year-old since his serious car accident 15 months ago.

After his comeback at the US Masters in April, Woods continues to see himself on the right track, even if not everything worked out yet, an eleven decreased on the train. "I had to slip, I did it and did it," said Woods relieved: "It was not nice, I had to fight because I still couldn't move like before."

Meanwhile, Rory McIlroy lost the lead at the second major of the season. The Northern Irish, who had succeeded in a major with a major since the US Open 2011, played a 71 and slipped to fifth place. The new leader is the American Will Zalatoris with nine strokes under par. Bubba Watson (USA) climbed to fourth place with the best round of the day (63).
